Star Child @ Ditch Projects
The works in Star Child continue a practice of collecting, manipulating, and reframing material to build psychological tension, humor, and states of disassociation. In the video, Bard’s Inn, the artist and her mother set out on a road trip, but never leave the Shakespeare-themed hotel grounds. The paintings, created in response to found and collected snapshots and videos from the 80's and 90s, are the result of a rapid mark-making technique in which familiar forms appear in ambiguous spaces.
