Smoke layers footage of men performing circular motorcycle burnouts with a performance of Johnny Contardo singing “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.” The work stages repetition, spectacle, and containment—where romantic longing and masculinized displays of power collapse into a closed loop of friction, exhaust, and longing.
